Analysis: Introduction and Initial Thoughts

For my final Major Project I wanted to create a piece that embodied elements that I learnt from my time at university. I decided to create a pop-up book as it utilizes the paper craft that I have somewhat developed  during a few of my past projects.

I am excited for this project as it allows me a lot of freedom with my work. I want to make a piece that embodies my personality as an illustrator. My concept is a pop-up book that has the appearance of a children book but is deceptive and contains imagery of a more adult nature.

My subject will be the bogeyman and its international variations. I find this topic fascinating the horrors that parents warn their children about are surprisingly varied and horrific. Folklore is very different dependent on the countries of origin.

Overall I am hopeful for my project and I am looking forward to applying my abilities to a new task.
