Research: The Bogeyman


 For my project I have to research the many variations of the bogeyman from around the world. I have created a list of some of my personal favorites.

The Bogeyman:

 Originating from England he is usually depicted as a shadowy man with varying forms he hides in the darkness. He preys on children in there rooms under the darkness of night.

The Rézfaszu Bogoly:

Originating from Hungary this owl beasts most predominant feature his his large copper penis.

The Grindylow:

 Small creatures that inhabit bodies of water, they drag children underwater if they get to close. They are from English folklore.

  The Yara-ma-yha-who:

 An Australian beast who lives in the trees, he jumps down onto weary travelers and sucks out their blood. 

The Cuca:

A monster from Spain she is a large crocodile woman known for eating children.

The H'awouahoua:

With Algerian Origin this beast is an amalgamation of many animals he stalks the night wearing a cloak made of human skin.

Tata Duende:

This goblin like creature comes from Belice, he has backwards feet and no thumb. He protects the forest from children.

The Gooseberry Wife:

A caterpillar woman who protects gooseberries from naughty children. This strange creature originates from the Isle of Wight which makes a lot of sense...

The Qalupalik:

 Originating from Inuit folklore she captures children and drags them under the sea to raise them as her own.

The  Morko:

A shadowy hill like creatue that is ice cold. From Finland.

Gryla:

From Iceland this Troll woman boils children up to eat them.

Marabbecca:

 A monster that lives in freshwater bodies of water it will drag children into the water.

Akaname:

This Japanese spirit that haunts dirty bathrooms and licks it clean leaving its toxic spit.

Jersey Devil:

A horse like beast that haunts America.
