The Rezfaszu Bagoly originates from Hungarian folklore it is simply an Owl with a copper penis. I found this idea funny so I felt the need to include it in my work. From talking to my peers I discovered that this quirky beast was well received by people probably due to his inappropriate imagery.
I started by drawing Owls that were native to Hungary to get an idea of the potential form of this creature as there is very little information on this creature. I then applied those to my own designs, I decided to base my creatures form to resemble a creature that would crawl around in the canopy. I also designed him with the idea of exhibitionists in mind, I thought about what could I compare a creature with a focus on adult subject matter so a 'flasher' came to mind. I imagine being flashed by someone is very scary.
